The free TradingView plan works — but not for real contract trading
A free TradingView account can receive your KAM indicators just fine. You can open the chart, see the signals, and get comfortable with how everything is drawn. The moment you move to real contract trading, though, the free plan hits two hard limits: the prices you see are delayed (often by around 15 minutes on many markets), and it does not give you the real-time contract data you actually need at the moment you enter and exit.
In other words, the indicator can print a perfectly valid signal, but the price on your screen is not the live price in that instant — and in a fast-moving market, that gap costs you, especially on short-dated contracts whose value changes second by second.
Why real-time contract data matters
Index contracts move quickly, and their value is sensitive to every second. When your data is delayed, you run into three direct problems:
- Late entries: you see the signal and buy at a price that has already passed, filling at a worse level than you planned.
- Inaccurate stops: your screen says you are still safe while the real market crossed your stop minutes ago.
- Missed targets: a target gets hit on the live market and you only notice after price has already pulled back.
Real-time data lets you see the exact price the market is trading right now — a basic requirement for executing the indicator's plan precisely, instead of approximately. Without it, you are always a step behind the real market.
What a paid plan actually unlocks
To trade contracts seriously, you need two things together, not just one:
- The cheapest paid TradingView tier: the lowest paid level is enough to lift the free-account restrictions and unlock real-time pricing on the core tools.
- A real-time contract data subscription: this is a separate add-on for live contract prices specifically. Without it, your contract data stays delayed no matter how high your plan is.
These are not luxury extras — they are the foundation that makes a signal useful in the real world, rather than just a nice-looking mark on the chart. Setup happens once inside TradingView, and you can review their own pages to confirm which market's real-time data you need before you subscribe.
An honest note: this is an added cost
A TradingView plan and the contract-data subscription are a separate cost paid to TradingView directly, on top of your KAM indicator subscription — we do not sell them and do not profit from them. We mention this upfront so you can see your full cost clearly before you start and decide with your eyes open. If you are unsure what exactly you need, reach out to support and we will explain it for the market you want to trade.
The good news is that it is a one-time setup. Configure your account once, and every KAM indicator you use — both Sahh and SPX — runs on that same real-time account with no extra setup, and on mobile in the same way.
Ready to start on the right foundation? Activate the Sahh indicator on your own TradingView account and let its signals run on accurate, real-time data instead of delayed data. See the Sahh indicator and subscription details here — all pricing is laid out on the product page.
